Issues
"I love where I live and want to ensure Mount Pleasant remains strong for the future."
- Kathryn Whitaker, Candidate for Mount Pleasant Town Council
Stewardship
Mount Pleasant is a special place. It's rooted in history, blessed with natural beauty, and strengthened by generations of neighbors who cared enough to preserve what makes it unique. I believe in responsible stewardship: honoring the progress we’ve made, protecting our community’s character, and preparing thoughtfully for the future. Growth is here, but we can shape it in ways that safeguard our quality of life, protect our resources, and ensure Mount Pleasant remains a place we’re proud to call home.
Service
Public service means listening first, acting with transparency, and always putting neighbors before politics. As your Town Council member, I’ll be accessible and accountable—committed to ensuring our decisions reflect the needs and voices of the people who live here. Service is about showing up, rolling up your sleeves, and working for the good of the whole community.
Support
Mount Pleasant thrives because of its people—neighbors who care for one another, support local businesses, and contribute to a strong community culture. On Town Council, I’ll support initiatives that strengthen those bonds: from safe neighborhoods and parks to small business growth and community events. Together, we can preserve Mount Pleasant’s welcoming spirit while ensuring it remains a place where families and businesses flourish.
